The Memphis University School football team looked like Keystone Kops in the first minute of Friday’s game against neighborhood rival Ridgeway. But the Owls laid down the law after that.

Bradley Foley scored three TDs and the Owls held the Roadrunners well below their season average of 403 yards to improve to 6-0 with a 40-22 victory at Stokes Stadium.

It ended a difficult fourgame stretch for MUS, which has played Olive Branch, Grenada, South Panola and Ridgeway in successive games.

“With all they have going on in school, they did a great job,” said Owls coach Bobby Alston. “We knew what Ridgeway was capable of ... but I’m so proud of our guys.”

Ridgeway, ranked fifth in The Commercial Appeal commercialappeal. com/preps. Dandy Dozen, showed what is capable of on the first play from scrimmage as Tyrique Sandusky aired it out to Vincent Taylor for a 73-yard score. Then after MUS fumbled the kickoff, Sandusky hit Kundarrius Taylor for a 7-yard touchdown and the Owls were down 14-0 before running a play.
