Sedgwick to add 150 jobs

A Memphis-based claims management service provider is adding 150 jobs with a $34 million headquarte­rs expansion.

Sedgwick Claims Management Services Inc. proposes to vacate its headquarte­rs at 1100 Ridgeway Loop, where it has been an anchor tenant since 2001, and a second location on Thousand Oaks Boulevard off American Way.

Sedgwick was said to be in final negotiatio­ns for an undisclose­d campus site that can handle more than 1,000 employees.

“Sedgwick has been a valued member of the Memphis community for many years, and when a company like this chooses to expand in our state, it shows how focused Tennessee is on making sure existing businesses have room to grow and excel,” Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam said. “I thank Sedgwick for bringing us one step closer to our goal of making Tennessee the No. 1 location in the Southeast for high-quality jobs.”

Sedgwick employs nearly 15,000 globally. Its technology-based services include management of workers’ compensati­on, disability, Family Medical Leave Act, property and specialty claims, managed care, special and forensic investigat­ion, Medicare and OSHA solutions and risk consulting. About 2.6 million claimants a year are served by 275 offices.

Sedgwick is one of Memphis’ biggest private companies, producing more than $1.6 billion in revenue. Its majority shareholde­r is the New York investment firm KKR.Minority shareowner­s include Stone Point Capital LLC of Green-
