Beyonce bows out of Coachella but will perform in 2018
Beyonce, who is pregnant with twins, will not perform at Coachella this year but will headline the festival in 2018. In a statement Thursday, Beyonce’s Parkwood Entertainment and festival producer Goldenvoice said the pop star was under doctor’s orders.
“Following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months, Beyonce has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival,” the statement said. “However, Goldenvoice and Parkwood are pleased to confirm that she will be a headliner at the 2018 festival. Thank you for your understanding.”
It was not clear who would perform in her absence. Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar will also headline the twoweekend festival in Indio, California.
Jenner calls Trump transgender decision ‘a disaster’
Caitlyn Jenner is taking President Donald Trump to task for his administration’s reversal of a directive on transgender access to public school bathrooms.
Jenner addressed Trump in a video posted Thursday night on Twitter, saying: “From one Republican to another, this is a disaster.”
The Trump White House has ended a directive issued during Barack Obama’s presidency that told public schools to let transgender students use bathrooms and locker rooms of their chosen gender.
The former Olympic champion who came out as a transgender woman in 2015 said: “You made a promise to protect the LGBTQ community. Call me.”
