Shaq furnishes home of girl who survived dog attack

Shaquille O’Neal has bought new furniture for the family of a 5-year-old Atlanta girl who survived a dog attack that left another child dead. WAGA-TV reports Syari Sanders returned home this week after being hospitaliz­ed since the Jan. 17 attack. Sanders and 6-year-old Logan Braatz were walking to a bus stop when they were attacked by two dogs. Braatz died from his injuries. The dogs’ owner has been charged with involuntar­y manslaught­er and reckless conduct.

O’Neal met Sanders and her family at an Atlanta furniture store and picked up the tab for new items. The family told WAGA that the former NBA star and current TNT analyst has been involved with the family since the attack.

Lovato on 5 years sober: ‘It’s been quite the journey’

Demi Lovato is celebratin­g five years of sobriety.

The 24-year-old singer celebrated Wednesday with an Instagram post. She writes that “it’s been quite the journey,” adding, “so many times I wanted to relapse but sat on my hands and begged God to relieve the obsession.”

Lovato’s personal struggles have been well-documented. In 2010, she left a tour with the Jonas Brothers and entered rehab for an eating disorder and self-mutilation.

She has also said that she used drugs and alcohol to self -medicate.

Lovato says she has bipolar disorder and has been an advocate for mental health awareness.
