Colbert wants you to forgive him — and buy his book

Stephen Colbert wants you to curl up with a good book — by Stephen Colbert.

The “Midnight Confession­s” segment from CBS’ “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” is the basis for an upcoming book, Simon & Schuster announced Friday. “Midnight Confession­s,” the book, is scheduled for Sept. 5. According to the publisher, the book will include Colbert’s favorite pleas for forgivenes­s, along with submission­s from audience members. Colbert said in a statement that he wishes the “confession­s were made up.”

Country-pop star Twain joins ‘The Voice’

Canadian country-pop megastar Shania Twain is joining “The Voice” as a key adviser, Twain and the NBC show announced Thursday.

Twain will serve as the key mentor to season 12’s Top 12 contestant­s, appearing April 24 at 8 p.m. ET.

Twain one of the best-selling female artists in history, but she’s gone 14 years without releasing an album. She’s getting ready to release her fifth studio LP in late spring.

Lennon honors environmen­t in kids’ book

Julian Lennon is looking to nurture a new generation’s commitment to the environmen­t, with a little help from a white feather.

The firstborn son of the late John Lennon has co-authored “Touch the Earth,” a picture book for kids as young as 3 about the world’s water problems, from polluted oceans to the need for clean drinking water in the developing world.
