Schumer, Fey to host season’s last 2 ‘Saturday Night Live’ shows
“Saturday Night Live” is calling on some big comedy hitters to close out Season 43.
The NBC late-night institution announced Wednesday that Amy Schumer, star of “I Feel Pretty,” will host on May 12, with Kacey Musgraves as musical guest. “SNL” icon Tina Fey will host the season’s final episode on May 19, joined by musical guest Nicki Minaj.
Donald Glover gets the other May gig on May 5.
Kristen Stewart, Ava DuVernay to serve on the Cannes jury
Kristen Stewart and Ava DuVernay will serve on the Cannes Film Festival jury that will choose this year’s Palme d’Or winner, the French festival announced Wednesday.
The French film festival Wednesday announced the jury that will serve under Cate Blanchett. Joining them are filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, French actress Lea Seydoux, Chinese actor Chang Chen, French director Robert Guediguian, Burundian singer Khadja Nin and Russian director Andrey Zvyagintsev.
On opening day of Tribeca fest, De Niro directs his ire at Trump
As the curtain went up on the 17th Tribeca Film Festival, Robert De Niro used the festival’s megawatt spotlight to direct his considerable ire at President Donald Trump.
At a kickoff luncheon for the media Wednesday, De Niro referred to Trump as “our Lowlife-in-Chief ” and rejected what he referred to as the president’s narrow definition of America.
“I hope there’s a couple where I interrogate him then I arrest him and then I escort him to jail,” De Niro said, referring to Trump.
