MSNBC’s Joy Reid, under fire for homophobic language in old blog posts, has apologized for any past comments that belittled or mocked the LGBTQ community and says she hasn’t been able to verify her claim that her account was hacked.

Reid opened her weekend show “AM Joy” on Saturday by acknowledg­ing she has said “dumb” and “hurtful” things in the past. “The person I am now is not the person I was then,” she said.

She said she’s unable to explain blog posts from a decade ago that mocked gay people.

Reid has denied posting them altogether but said a security expert who looked into whether she had been a hacking victim found no proof. She

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom meet pope during Vatican visit

Singer Katy Perry and actor Orlando Bloom met another famous face during a trip to The Vatican Saturday – Pope Francis.

The stars traveled to Vatican City together for the Unite To Cure event, an internatio­nal conference on the cure for cancer.

Perry wore an all-black ensemble with a matching hat while meeting and shaking hands with the head of the Catholic church. Bloom wore a suit and tie.

Perry, 33, and Bloom, 41, have dated on and off in the past but have not yet publicly confirmed their relationsh­ip is back on.

During an Instagram story before the event, however, Perry referred to Bloom as her “darling.”
