47 guns stolen from Memphis pawn shop

Following an armed robbery of a Memphis pawn shop, authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for tips leading to an arrest and conviction.

According to a press release from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, three armed suspects stole approximately 47 guns from Pawn Plus on July 12. After obtaining the guns, the suspects left the store — located in the 5800 block of Winchester — in a red Honda sedan.

ATF Industry Operations Investigators responded to the scene, and are currently working to determine the exact number of guns that were stolen.

“ATF’s Crime Gun Intelligence will leverage investigative resources combined with the community partnerships to solve this violent criminal act,” said ATF Special Agent in Charge Marcus Watson.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation and the ATF are both contributing $5,000 toward the reward. According to the press release, the funds are “part of a larger national cooperative initiative between the NSSF and ATF in which NSSF matches ATF’s reward in cases involving the theft of firearms from federally licensed firearms retailers.”
