Who Tigers are taking to AAC Media Days

Tight end Drew Kyser will be one of four players accompanyi­ng coach Mike Norvell to AAC Media Days in Newport, R.I., set for Monday and Tuesday. Norvell and Kyser will be joined by running back Tony Pollard, defensive lineman Emmanuel Cooper and linebacker Curtis Akins

Media Days will begin with the announceme­nt of the AAC’s Fifth Anniversar­y team Monday afternoon followed by the evening clambake.

On Tuesday, AAC commission­er Mike Aresco will open with comments from 8-8:30 a.m. Norvell will speak at 9:30 a.m. during a coaches’ roundtable with new UCF coach Josh Heupel, Temple coach Geoff Collins and Tulsa coach Philip Montgomery.

The full event will be streamed live via Facebook on the American Digital Network page.

Memphis’ first fall practice will be on Friday, Aug. 3.

The team will host its annual Football Fan Fest on Saturday, Aug. 11 at the South Campus Field. There will be an equipment sale starting at 4 p.m. followed by an open scrimmage at 4:20 p.m.and autograph session at 6 p.m. Parking will be free at FedExPark in the left field lot.

The Highland Hundred will host their annual kickoff party for the Tigers season on Aug. 24 at Memphis Botanical Garden from 6-10 p.m. Registrati­on is open on the group’s website.
