What to know for Tigers’ scrimmage in Jackson

- Evan Barnes Memphis Commercial Appeal USA TODAY NETWORK - TENNESSEE

Memphis will conclude its three-day stay in Jackson on Saturday with its second preseason scrimmage to be held at the university's Lambuth campus.

With two weeks to go before the opener, Tigers coach Mike Norvell said there is a greater urgency to see who performs well.

"You've got to put it together when people are in the stands and everybody's watching," Norvell said, "It's going to really help us a lot on determining who's ready to play and where that initial depth chart is going to be."

The scrimmage is set to begin at 10 a.m. and here are five things to keep an eye on:

Which quarterback takes control?

Last week's scrimmage saw David Moore have the better day at quarterback. Moore and Brady White have split firstteam reps this week and there still is no clear leader.

Will Moore or White take a greater leap forward Saturday? Or will it be another audition that continues into next week?

Will Darrell Henderson, Patrick Taylor and Tony Pollard sit again?

The Tigers' trio of playmakers did not play on offense last week during the scrimmage and only came in for special teams action.

Norvell said Friday that he again wants to see his younger players get more reps and acclimated to game-like situations. That could mean less time for Henderson, Taylor and Pollard.

Which receiver will stand out?

Last week, junior Kedarian Jones caught two touchdown passes. This is a group still looking to show consistency in
