The date for Penny Hardaway's preseason coronation has been set.

Memphis Madness will take place Oct. 4 at FedExForum, according to the first-year Tigers basketball coach.

Hardaway revealed the date to a group during the Memphis Rebounders Club dinner Tuesday evening.

In the past, Memphis has brought in performers, such as Rick Ross and Yo Gotti, to entertain fans and recruits. The Tigers are expected to have several top recruits from the class of 2019 on hand when they take the floor for the opening scrimmage.

Live music will begin on the plaza at 5 p.m., and players will be available for autographs on the concourse shortly after the gates open at 6 p.m., according to Memphis Athletics' official announcement.

Last year, Memphis Madness included an autograph signing, a dunk contest, a 3-point shooting team contest and the scrimmage.

The women's basketball team, as well as coach Melissa McFerrin, will also join the men's team in the action.

All seats to the event will be reserved, with a maximum of six tickets per purchase.

Tickets to sit in Plaza and Club level seats will cost $10, and Terrace level seats will cost $5.

University of Memphis students will be admitted for free.

Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning on Sept. 5.
