1. Lausanne (6-0): Lausanne came away with a 42-34 road win over Evangelica­l Christian School (5-2), its toughest test since an overtime victory over Whitehaven three weeks ago. The Lynx have a bye week this week and will head down to Southaven, Miss., for a game with Northpoint Christian (0-6) on Oct. 12. 2. Germantown (7-0): The Red Devils continued their hot run with a road win over Class 5A power Henry County (6-1) as Ethan Payne tossed three touchdowns. This week, Germantown travels to White Station (3-4) for a region game. 3. Horn Lake (6-0): Horn Lake has beaten every team it has faced by 29 points or more, including Friday’s 32-3 win over Desoto Central (3-4). This Friday, they’ll play host to Columbus (0-6). 4. Whitehaven (5-2): The Tigers shut out Trezevant (3-4) 35-0, marking their third shutout of the year and second in a row. Since losing to defending Arkansas state champion North Little Rock, Whitehaven has beaten its past two opponents 111-0. Next up is Memphis Central and its stingy defense, which has held all opponents except Colliervil­le to single-digit points this season. 5. Olive Branch (6-0): Olive Branch blasted Lewisberg (2-4) 58-7. The Conquistad­ors are the only team to have beaten Kirby so far. Olive Branch will play Granada (3-4) on the road this week. 6. Memphis University School (6-0): Reigning Commercial Appeal Athlete of the Week Maurice Hampton hauled in six catches for 110 yards and two scores in a shutout win over St. Benedict (5-1). This week they’ll play Briarcest, which will be looking to avenge it’s loss to Christian Brothers that dropped them out of the Top 10. 7. Memphis Central (6-0): Memphis Central put together a solid 37-20 win over Colliervil­le (3-4). The real test comes this week when the Warriors put their undefeated record on the line at home against Whitehaven. 8. Christian Brothers (6-1): The Purple Wave get a bye this week after beating rival Briarcrest (5-2) 17-14 in the Commercial Appeal Game of the Week. Al Wooten made a first-half intercepti­on in the red zone and ran in the go-ahead touchdown early in the fourth quarter. 9. Kirby (6-1): Kirby makes both the Commercial Appeal Top 10 and the Associated Press poll for the first time this week. The Cougars blew out Bolton (0-7) 62-0 Friday night, which was their second win in a row with that exact score.They’ll play on the road at nearby Southwind (5-2) next. 10. Houston (6-1): The Mustangs beat Cordova (5-2) by a touchdown last week. A road game with Oakhaven awaits.
