Kavanaugh too partisan for court

Disregarding all issues surrounding Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination for a seat on the Supreme Court of the United States, his outburst at the confirmation hearing last week disqualifies him for the position. His temper tantrum was juvenile and disrespectful.

This country deserves a person who would take the job seriously and have the sober temperament to make informed decisions based on the Constitution, not the political affiliation of the petitioners who come before the Court. Kavanaugh is not that person.

Court needs honest, sober justice

In response to the letters and comic strips that imply it is wrong to judge someone by his behavior as a teenager, Email letters to letters@commercial appeal.com; mail Letters to the Editor, The Commercial Appeal, 495 Union, Memphis, TN 38103; or click on the “Submit Letter” link on the Opinion page atcommercialappeal.com. that is not what is happening. Judge Brett Kavanaugh is trying to paint an inaccurate picture of his high school and college years. He is lying under oath about what his behavior was at that time.

Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, one of Kavanaugh’s accusers, is sacrificing so much and has nothing to gain by coming forward. I believe her and I also think it is possible that Judge Kavanaugh doesn’t remember the assault. The lying about it is what makes him unsuited for a lifetime appointment on the highest court in the land.
