Rapper Kanye West has been invited to the White House.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders says West is scheduled to have lunch with President Donald Trump on Thursday and meet with Trump’s son-inlaw, Jared Kushner. Sanders said Tuesday they’ll talk about manufactur­ing, prison reform, preventing gang violence and reducing violence in Chicago, where West grew up.

Eagles’ Joe Walsh tells his addiction story at gala evening

Eagles band member Joe Walsh and his wife, Marjorie Walsh, have been honored by the nonprofit Facing Addiction with NCADD for their support of the recovery movement.

Walsh, 69, performed Monday night at a gala fundraiser with Vince Gill – who’s been touring with the Eagles – and Michael McDonald, on accordion. Walsh has been sober for 25 years. He told his story of alcohol and drug dependence, as did his wife when she introduced him to the crowd.

Nicks, Def Leppard among first-time rock hall nominees

Stevie Nicks and Def Leppard are among the acts nominated to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for the first time. The hall announced Tuesday that 15 acts were nominated this year. The winners will be revealed in December, with the induction planned for Brooklyn’s Barclays Center next March.

Nicks is already in as a member of Fleetwood Mac, but this time will be considered as a solo act. Roxy Music, John Prine, Devo and Todd Rundgren were also nominated for the first time.

Radiohead, Janet Jackson and the Cure are among the acts coming back for another try. —The Associated Press
