3-star JUCO Ducksworth commits to Memphis

- Evan Barnes Memphis Commercial Appeal USA TODAY NETWORK - TENNESSEE

Wardalis Ducksworth, a three-star recruit from Jones County Junior College in Mississippi, has committed to Memphis

Ducksworth, a defensive end, had offers from Ole Miss and Kansas. He is the second junior college recruit to commit to the Tigers this cycle following offensive lineman Brian Thomas of Hutchinson Community College.

The 6-foot-4, 235 pound Ducksworth, originally from Mize, Miss., is ranked No. 78 nationally among junior college prospects and No. 7 at defensive end according to 247Sports' rankings. He has 18 tackles, including four for loss, this season after racking up 38 tackles, including six sacks last year.

The Tigers only have two defensive linemen committed in this cycle in Central's Trevis Hopper and hybrid defensive end/linebacker Joseph Honeysucker of Hillsboro in Nashville. Ducksworth should help add more depth to a position that only graduates Emmanuel Cooper after this season.

According to 247Sports rankings, Ducksworth is the 15th three-star recruit in the Tigers 2019 class, which is now at 18 players.
