Through Dec. 7: The Memphis Area Master Gardeners 2019 Gardening in Shelby County calendar: Full of resources for both the novice weekend gardener and the profession­al horticultu­rist. Calendar features horticultu­ral articles, listings of all public horticultu­ral events with contact informatio­n as well as a monthly “To Do” feature outlining planting, lawn care, pruning, fertilizat­ion and general tips to help organize gardening tasks. Dec. 2: Holiday Open House: Noon-4 p.m. at the National Ornamental Metal Museum, 374 Metal Museum Drive. All are welcome to enjoy free museum admission and holiday-themed treats. Dec. 8: Herbal Work Study: Seeds: 8:15-11:30 a.m. at Memphis Botanic Garden. Three hours spent cleaning seeds. Normally we would have a separate time for instructio­n, but instructio­n will be built into the entire three hours for this event. As we clean the seeds, we will learn about seed saving and packaging with a goodly smattering of general herb informatio­n.
