Cordova senior living community to open in 2020

A 144-apartment senior living community in Cordova is set to open in early 2020.

HarborChase of Cordova will provide a mix of independent living, assisted living and memory care apartments in a 158,083-square-foot, three-story space, according to a news release. It is being developed by Denver-based Confluent Senior Living and Florida-based Harbor Retirement Associates.

The facility will be located at 7518 Dexter Grove Drive, about 20 miles from Memphis.

HarborChase of Cordova’s opening in the 2020 first quarter won’t be too far from the launch of HarborChase of Germantown. That project, involving the same developers, is expected to open in summer 2019.

Marshall Burton, president and CEO of Confluent Development, said the developer is “very encouraged by the Memphis market as we expand in the metro area with our second development.”

Charlie Jennings, chief development officer of Harbor Retirement Associates, said in a statement of his own that the facility “will provide meaningful jobs for many local residents, and we look forward to serving the families and older adults of the Cordova area for decades to come.”

The facility will have studio, onebedroom and two-bedroom apartments, plus a variety of amenities like a barber and beauty salon, a putting green, daily scheduled transportation, a fully enclosed memory support courtyard and more, according to the release.

The project’s architect is Rosemann & Associates.
