Conley updates finger injury as Grizz regroup

Mike Conley played with a right pointer finger that was "pretty fat and pretty purple" in the Grizzlies' 111-88 loss to the Lakers on Saturday night.

It was one of many painful elements for the Grizzlies in their most-lopsided loss since the season opener.

Conley dislocated the finger Friday night during a 107-103 win at the New Orleans Pelicans.

He scored nine points against the Pelicans and 12 on Saturday night against the Lakers after scoring at least 18 points in 13 straight games heading into the weekend.

"To dislocate it and play the next night is not ideal," Conley said. "But I think it’ll get a lot better within two days, just letting the swelling get down."

Little was ideal for Memphis (15-10) in its most-lopsided loss since a 111-83 drubbing at Indiana on opening night.

The Lakers turned 19 offensive rebounds into 20 second-chance points and, at times, seemed to out-hustle a Grizzlies team playing in front of an energetic crowd.

"A lot of easy shots and easy looks,
