Production puts a spin on ‘The Odd Couple’

- Special to Memphis Commercial Appeal USA TODAY NETWORK - TENNESSEE

Arlington Community Theatre will present Neil Simon’s female version of "The Odd Couple."

Unger and Madison are at it again — but this time, it's Florence Unger and Olive Madison. Instead of the poker party that begins the original version, Madison has invited the girls over for an evening of Trivial Pursuit. The Pidgeon sisters have been replaced by the two Costazuela brothers, but the hilarity remains. The production is directed by Howard Pries and stars Emily Garrett as Olive Madison, Brianna Roche as Florence Unger, Debbie Pugh Vaughn as

Mickey, Marianne Orendorff as Vera, Heather Staggs as Renee, Liz Brock as Sylvie, Eric James Schultz as Manolo Costazuela, and Howard Pries as Jesus Costazuela.

"The Odd Couple" opens at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15 at the sanctuary of the Arlington Abbey, 6183 Quintard St., Arlington. Other showtimes include 7:30 p.m. Feb. 16, 22 and 23 and 2:30 p.m. Feb. 17 and 24.

Seating is limited and tickets can be purchased in advance at http://actoddcouple.brownpapertickets.com or at the door for $15.

Attendees are asked to come dressed in '80sthemed attire. Those who do will be entered to win door prizes.
