Here’s a look at promotions, hirings and other noteworthy business events in the Memphis area:
❚ Fogelman Properties in a joint venture with Thackeray recently acquired Crestmark Apartments in Douglasville, Ga. Crestmark Apartments is a 334-unit garden-style community.
❚ Shoemaker Financial announced Jim Shoemaker transitioned his presidency to his partners Mac Jenkins and Jeremy Jones at the beginning of the year. Jenkins joined Shoemaker Financial in 1992 and Jones joined the firm in 2005. Both previously served the firm in executive leadership roles. Shoemaker is still serving on its board of directors.
❚ James Crone has joined The Crone Law Firm as marketing specialist.
❚ Local senior living community Trezevant recently was presented the Excellence in Spiritual Care Award from Healthcare Chaplaincy Network, a nonprofit healthcare organization that seeks to advance the integration of spiritual care in health care. The award signifies that Trezevant is addressing patients’ spiritual and religious needs through best practices in spiritual care.
❚ Neel-schaffer recently promoted Sonny Smoak to senior vice president and announced Steve Cockerham, Richard Sullivan and Stan Wright are now company vice presidents. Smoak joined Neel-schaffer in 1999 and manages the firm’s office in Houston, Texas. Cockerham is an engineer manager at its Maitland, Florida, location. Sullivan serves as Tennessee operations manager overseeing the Nashville, Murfreesboro and Memphis offices.
