Neil degrasse Tyson apologizes for weekend tweet about death

Neil degrasse Tyson has learned after a tweet that pointing out truths is not always helpful.

The astrophysicist and author apologized Monday for a Sunday tweet in which he noted more people died in less attention-getting ways in the same two-day period as a pair of mass shootings.

He concluded his tweet with: “Often our emotions respond more to spectacle than to data.” The tweet trended on Twitter and prompted outrage of being tone-deaf in nature.

Tamron Hall tells of spat with Prince before he died

A few months before Prince died, he asked his friend Tamron Hall where he would go if he wanted to discuss his life.

At the time, the TV personality was co-host of the third hour on NBC’S “Today.”

Prince said he was going to talk to Charlie Rose, who had an eponymous talk show on PBS and was a co-anchor on rival “CBS This Morning.”

Hall says she “got so mad” at Prince that an argument ensued and she hung up on him. He called her back and she demanded to know how he could choose Rose.

Prince never did the interview and died in April 2016.

Hall told the story at a TV critics meeting Monday while discussing her new talk show “Tamron Hall.”

A judge has rejected Harvey Weinstein’s effort to get a federal appeals court to decide quickly whether sex trafficking claims can brought against him.

U.S. District Judge Alison Nathan refused Monday to let Weinstein’s lawyers immediately appeal a ruling saying he could be sued using laws prohibiting sex trafficking. The written decision was consistent with rulings by other judges on the issue.

The ruling pertained to a civil lawsuit filed in fall 2017 by actress Kadian Noble. She alleged Weinstein molested her after encouraging her to meet him in a Cannes, France, hotel room in 2014 to watch her demo reel.

Weinstein denies wrongdoing and has denied all allegations of nonconsensual sex. Scores of women have accused the movie mogul of sexual misconduct. legally be
