Hernando, Miss. – Two members of the Desoto County Planning Commission say they expect Horn Lake residents to continue their opposition to the name chosen for a 346-lot residential subdivision planned for that area. R.H. “Sonny Boy” Hutchison and Fuller Mcgowen, who represent the north Desoto County community on the commission, said residents want the subdivision to have Horn Lake in its name. First Desoto Corp., owner of the land, switched from its original name choice — Southaven Park — to Desoto Village because of opposition from Horn Lake residents. The 133.43-acre development will be located on the southwest side of Goodman Road and
Hurt Road.
