Here’s a taste of Wendy’s new breakfast menu
Baconator, Frosty in the morning
A Baconator and a Frosty for breakfast?
It’s all part of Wendy’s new breakfast menu that officially launches nationwide Monday.
“We are giving our customers what they want – great tasting food early in the morning,” said Mike Johnson, marketing director for Carlisle Corp., a Memphis-based company that owns 154 Wendy’s locations in the Southeast. “We knew that if we added breakfast, we had to do it in a big way – creating different, craveable options.”
The Breakfast Baconator is Wendy’s breakfast spin on its popular burger.
A combination of a fresh-cracked egg, six strips of applewood smoked bacon, a breakfast sausage patty and two slices of American cheese all topped with a Swiss cheese sauce on a soft bun.
Following Wendy’s mantra of “we don’t cut corners,” the sausage patty is in the shape of a square just like its burgers.
One sip of the new Frosty-ccino and you’ll never go back to black coffee again. Wendy’s cold brew coffee comes with your choice of chocolate or vanilla Frosty cream.
Frosty cream is basically the base the company uses to make its iconic frozen dessert. The iced coffee drink tastes just like a Frosty – just not frozen.
“We are excited about introducing a new product,” said Ken Buck, district manager of Meritage Hospitality Group, a company that owns 334 Wendy’s locations nationwide and 28 in the Memphis area. “Once they taste it, they will be hooked. Mcdonald’s better watch out!”
Also on the menu is a Honey Butter Biscuit, a Southern-style warm buttermilk biscuit topped with a crispy allwhite-meat chicken breast and whipped honey butter.
It’s a sweet and savory combination to start your day.
A Bacon, Egg and Swiss Croissant, Maple Bacon Chicken Croissant and an
Egg and Cheese Biscuit with your choice of sausage or bacon are a few of the other breakfast sandwiches on the menu.
Crispy seasoned breakfast potatoes and seasonal fruit are the side options. An Oatmeal Bar made with whole oats, sweet blueberries and tart cranberries is also among the offerings.
“Our customers can now wake up to a better breakfast,” said Chance Carlisle, CEO of Carlisle Corp.
Breakfast hours are 6:30-10:30 a.m. daily. From 6:30 to 9 a.m., breakfast is available for drive-thru only.
From 9 to 10:30 a.m., breakfast is available for dine-in or drive-thru.
