STIX restaurant opens new location in Downtown Memphis
Restaurant’s second brick-and-mortar site was ready to go before COVID-19, is now open Downtown.
STIX restaurant was almost ready to open its new Downtown location when all restaurant dining rooms were ordered closed in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We had finished construction and had completed all the interviews for the Downtown location,” owner Wayne Yeh said in April. The new STIX restaurant opened Tuesday in the 2,600-squarefoot space at 150 Peabody Place that once housed Dan Mcguinness Irish Pub.
This is Yeh’s third endeavor in the Memphis area. The first location of STIX in Tennessee opened in The Shops at Carriage Crossing in Collierville in 2005. In 2017, Yeh added a food truck to his business. STIX’S Downtown location will serve fast lunches that cater to busy professionals, tourists and Memphians looking to grab a quick meal. The menu includes daily specials and STIX favorites such as Asian Steamed Buns, madeto-order hibachi items, and sushi burritos and rolls with Memphis-centric names such as the Bluff City Burrito and Riverside Roll. Local and domestic beers will also be available. “Our Downtown location is situated in a beautiful, newly renovated space that I know locals and tourists alike are going to enjoy visiting,” Yeh said. “Whether you’re looking for a unique meal like a sushi burrito or you want to take a more traditional route and go with a cup of Egg Drop Soup with a sushi roll, we have something delicious to offer.” The Downtown STIX location will offer counter service only and will be open from noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Guests can order ahead online through STIX’S website, at the counter or at an in-house digital kiosk in an effort to provide food in a safe and timely manner.
