Angielyn “Angie” Sanders Phillips
GERMANTOWN -Itis with great sadness that the children of Angielyn “Angie” Sanders Phillips, age 83, announce her departure from her earthly life. Angie will be joyfully reunited with her parents, Lehman and Jeannie Sanders, her brother Duncan, and the love of her life and beloved husband, Jimmy. She leaves behind three children Ami Kelley (Mark), Juli Sharp (Andy) and Rusty (Wendy). Her seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren will greatly miss their precious “Gran”, who loved them unconditionally. Angie also leaves behind her sister, Rita Brown, her best friend throughout her life.
Angie was an amazing mother, teaching her children that there were no boundaries to what they could achieve. She was fiercely loyal and protective of her family, providing a nurturing home filled with family dinners, boat outings, cello practices, cheer competitions and swim meets. There were no excuses acceptable to miss church on Sunday and dinner with the family. Angie was a perfect host, ready for guests with trays of appetizers, a well cooked meal and great conversations. She had a vast circle of friends that gathered often for bridge, dinners and neighborhood social gathering. Being with others was the joy of her life. Angie was also courageous and strong after losing so much that she loved to a devastating stroke. She battled her limitations until the end.
The family is grateful to her caregivers at The Villiages, particularly Darlene, who provided amazing support. While Angie will be greatly missed by all who loved her, she lived a full life and leaves a wonderful legacy. Due to current circumstances, the family will schedule a memorial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, in respect for Angie’s love of children, please consider a donation to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.
