Two Autozone executives set to retire in December

Autozone announced Thursday that Bill Giles, executive vice president and chief financial officer for finance, informatio­n technology and store developmen­t, and Bill Hackney, senior vice president for merchandis­ing, would retire at the end of the year.

Jamere Jackson will join Autozone as executive vice president and chief financial officer for finance and store developmen­t, while Seong Ohm will replace Hackney, the company said in a news release.

Autozone president, chairman and CEO Bill Rhodes thanked Hackney and Giles for their work at the company and said "they have built organizati­ons that are well prepared to continue moving our company forward into the future."

“In his 14-year Autozone career, Bill Giles has driven innovation, provided insightful guidance and leadership, and worked tirelessly to further strengthen our financial position," Rhodes said. "Bill Hackney has been an Autozoner for 37 years and led multiple areas and teams across the company during his remarkable career. His passion for and deep understand­ing of our culture, customers and businesses are unparallel­ed."

Jackson was previously executive vice president and chief financial officer for Hertz. Before that, he served as chief financial officer for Nielsen Holdings and vice president and chief financial officer of a division of General Electric Oil and Gas.

Ohm served as group commercial developmen­t officer for Hong Kong-based Dairy Farm Group, where she oversaw developmen­t, sourcing, branding and packaging for multiple brands in 7,000 retail outlets across 11 Southeast Asian countries. She also served as chief commercial officer for Seoul-based discount retailer Homeplus, the second-largest retailer in South Korea.

She has also worked for Walmart, Sam's Club and General Electric.

Rhodes said he was excited for both Jackson and Ohm to join Autozone.

"Jamere's strong business acumen and experience­s at Hertz, Nielsen, and GE are well-suited for this position and contributi­ng to the ongoing success of our Company," he said. "Seong's extensive leadership experience in the retail industry, including merchandis­ing and global sourcing, will provide added depth to our talented management team."
