Here's a look at the Week 5 Memphisarea Football Top Performers, based on statistics submitted to The Commercial Appeal:
OFFENSE
Zach Baker, Arlington. Baker threw for 178 yards and two touchdowns in a 43-29 loss at Houston.
Dylan Keith, Arlington. Keith caught seven passes for 72 yards and one touchdown during a 43-29 loss to Houston.
Robert Giaimo, Bartlett. Another week, another two touchdown performance by Giaimo, who finished with 135 yards rushing in a 27-0 victory at Southaven. Michael Dallas, Briarcrest. Dallas was 12-of-20 passing for 255 yards and three touchdowns in a 37-0 victory over St. Benedict. He also added two rushing TDS.
Jerrod Gentry, Briarcrest. Gentry reeled in four passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns in a 37-0 win over St. Benedict.
Nick Harvell, Brighton. Harvell shined with 272 rushing yards on 21 carries and one touchdown, in addition to throwing for another score in a 39-34 loss to Munford.
Braxton Sharp, Brighton. Sharp ran the ball 16 times for 170 yards and three touchdowns in a 39-34 loss to Munford. Dallan Hayden, CBHS. Hayden was nearly unstoppable with 19 carries for 280 yards and three touchdowns in a 45-21 victory at Pope John Paul II.
Ty Wilson, CBHS. Wilson ran the ball five times for 116 yards and two touchdowns during a 45-21 win over Pope John Paul II.
Marcus Hayes, Covington. Hayes carried the ball 20 times for 134 yards and three touchdowns in a 48-0 win against Westview.
Eumorrion Flowers, Covington. Flowers had 12 rushing attempts for 101 yards in a 48-0 win at Westview.
Jamarrion Dowell, Covington. Dowell ran for 64 yards on 11 carries and two touchdowns during a 48-0 win over Westview.
Marquis Fields, Desoto Central. Fields rushed for 110 yards on 19 attempts and one touchdown in a 14-7 win over Columbus.
Jaylen Greenwood, ECS. Greenwood ran the ball 16 times for 171 yards and four touchdowns during a 40-12 victory over Northpoint.
Jacob Hatcher, ECS. Hatcher had 118 yards passing to go along with one rushing touchdown in a 40-12 win over Northpoint.
Jaylen Momon, Houston. Momon ran for 184 yards on 16 attempts and two touchdowns in a 43-29 victory over Arlington.
Gray Nischwitz, Houston. Nischwitz was 10-of-18 for 201 yards and two touchdowns during a 43-29 win against Arlington.
Pierre Seals, Houston. Seals caught three passes for 73 yards and one touchdown in a 43-29 victory versus Arlington.
Myles Smith, Lewisburg. Smith had 20 carries for 225 yards and two touchdowns in a 41-31 victory over Tishomingo County.
Ledger Carroll, Lewisburg. Carroll ran the ball 14 times for 177 yards and two touchdowns during a 41-31 win against visiting Tishomingo County.
Jaxon O’neal, Munford. O'neal threw for 193 yards and two touchdowns and added another one on the ground in a 39-34 victory over Brighton.
Auvic White, Munford. White had 17 carries for 129 yards and two touchdowns during a 39-34 win against
Brighton.
Traveon Hawkins, Munford. Hawkins caught four passes for 77 yards and two touchdowns in a 39-34 victory over Brighton.
George Hamsley, MUS. Hamsley was a solid 16-of-20 for 285 yards passing and one touchdown in a 30-27 loss at MBA.
Drew Burnett, MUS. Burnett caught three passes for 96 yards during a 3027 loss to MBA.
Hudson Brown, Northpoint. Brown completed 12 passes for 147 yards and two touchdowns in a 40-12 loss at ECS. Khamron Ford, Olive Branch. Ford carried the ball 21 times for 234 yards and one touchdown in a 38-20 victory at Cleveland Central.
Tralyn Oliver, Olive Branch. Oliver had a productive five carries for 80 yards and one touchdown during a 38-20 win over Cleveland Central.
Tre Phillips, Olive Branch. Phillips combined for 99 yards of total offense and two touchdowns in a 38-20 victory against Cleveland Central.
Wilson Whittemore, St. George’s. Whittemore threw for 148 yards and four touchdowns in a 41-7 win against FACS. TJ Ford, St. George’s. Ford had 14 carries for 136 yards and one touchdown in a 41-7 victory over FACS.
DEFENSE
Carter Wood and Jake Golday, Arlington. The Tiger duo was credited with 6.5 tackles apiece in a 43-29 loss at
Houston.
Thomas Jones, Bartlett. Jones had three interceptions, including one that he returned 55 yards for a touchdown, in a 27-0 victory at Southaven.
Isaiah Cobbs, Bartlett. Cobbs returned the last of his team's six interceptions 101 yards for a touchdown during a
27-0 win against Southaven.
Trace Heffernan, CBHS. Heffernan had five tackles, three assists, three TFL and one fumble recovery in a 45-21 victory at Pope John Paul II.
Ethan Soefker and Willy Huffman, CBHS. The Purple Wave duo combined for seven tackles, six assists and three TFL during a 45-21 win over Pope John Paul II.
Quentin Bass, Desoto Central. Bass had eight tackles, three TFL and one sack in a 14-7 victory over Columbus. Cam Taylor, Desoto Central. Taylor had a team-high 14 tackles and two forced fumbles during a 14-7 win against Columbus.
Sawyer Sterling, Desoto Central. Sterling registered 12 tackles in a 14-7 victory against Columbus.
Antravian Smith and Blake Holley, Desoto Central. The Jaguar duo combined for 11 tackles, two sacks, one forced fumble and one interception during a 14-7 win over Columbus.
Larry Giles III, FACS. Giles had six tackles and one fumble recovery in a 41-7 loss at St. George's.
Preston Jones and Tyler Pegues, FACS. The Crusader duo each had six tackles in a 41-7 loss to St. George's.
Christian Crew, Houston. Crew registered eight tackles, three TFL and one sack in a 43-29 victory over Arlington. Roderic Lewis, MUS. Lewis registered eight solo tackles and one assist in a 30-27 loss at MBA.
John Parker Hogan and Austin Dowdle, MUS. The Owl duo combined for nine solo tackles and three assists in a 30-27 loss to MBA. Dowdle also forced a fumble.
Icarius Hodgin and Jacoby Miguel, Munford. The Cougar duo combined for three interceptions in a 39-34 victory over Brighton.
Kamerin Hall, Olive Branch. Hall had two solo tackles, six assists and one TFL in a 38-20 win at Cleveland Central. Daryl Blackmon and Jonathan Elliott, Olive Branch. The Conquistador duo combined for two solo tackles, nine assists and 3.5 TFL in a 38-20 victory over host Cleveland Central.
Tate Wirth, St. George’s. Wirth was credited with seven solo tackles, three assists and two TFL in a 41-7 win over FACS.
Jake Seward, St. George’s. Seward returned an interception 41 yards for a touchdown during a 41-7 victory against FACS.
SPECIAL TEAMS
Gabriel Torres, Arlington. Torres returned two kickoffs for touchdowns (82 and 74 yards) in a 43-29 loss at Houston.
