Despite the news of Shelby County Schools continuing to postpone fall sports activities, Week 5 of the high school football season is here.

Here's a roundup of games, based on informatio­n submitted to The Commercial Appeal:

St. George’s 41, FACS 7: Gryphons' quarterbac­k Wilson Whittemore made the most of his 12 completion­s, with four of those passes going for touchdowns in the convincing home win. Whittemore finished with 148 yards. St. George's took a 35-0 lead into the fourth quarter following a 41-yard intercepti­on return for a TD by Jake Seward. TJ Ford ran for 136 yards and a touchdown. The Crusaders got their first points of the season when Josh Wright hooked up with Camden Estes for a 12-yard scoring strike on the game's final play.

ECS 40, Northpoint 12: Tailback Jaylen Greenwood returned after a onegame absence and didn't disappoint, rushing for 171 yards and four touchdowns for the host Eagles. Greenwood scored on runs of 5, 1, 53 and 10 yards, while other ECS touchdowns came courtesy of Jacob Hatcher and Jamison Smith. The Trojans received a pair of third-quarter TD passes from Hudson Brown, who finished his night with 147 yards through the air.

Montgomery Bell Academy 30, MUS 27: Points eluded the Owls in both the first and fourth quarters – and so did the road victory. Hunter Barnes was a good source of offense, scoring twice in the second quarter. Gavin Mckay caught a 34-yard TD pass from George Hamsley and Chris Goodwin had the other touchdown for MUS, which got 285 yards passing from George Hamsleythe thorn in the Owls' side was MBA running back Patrick Wilk, who carried the ball 18 times for 237 yards and two touchdowns. Rhett Hayles ran for 132 yards and also scored twice for the Big Red, while Marcel Reed threw for 163 yards.

Houston 43, Arlington 29: On the strength of a 21-point fourth quarter, the Mustangs were able to rally for the home victory. Jaylen Momon was among the stars on the Houston sideline, carrying the ball 16 times for 184 yards and two touchdowns. Gray Nischwitz threw for 201 yards and two scores. The Tigers were led by 209 passing yards from Zach Baker, while Gabriel Torres dazzled with two kickoff returns for touchdowns.

Covington 48, Westview 0: The visiting Chargers remained undefeated behind a strong rushing performanc­e and an even stronger defensive effort. Covington had 55 carries for 366 yards and six touchdowns, including 20 carries, 134 yards and three scores from Marcus Hayes. Eumorrion Flowers contribute­d 101 yards on 12 attempts. On the other side of the ball, the Chargers held their opponent to 51 yards of total offense.
