Dr. Bean’s Coffee and Tea Emporium has a new home
Dr. Bean’s Coffee and Tea Emporium has a new home.
On Nov. 25, the coffee shop moved from Puck Food Hall, which closes at the end of this month, to a space in retail store Stock & Belle at 387 S. Main St.
“It’s come full circle,” said Charles Billings, Dr. Bean’s head roaster and director of operations. “Stock & Belle and the 387 Pantry was the first place we sold our coffee.”
Dr. Bean’s has taken over the spot that was most recently Low Fi Coffee.
The menu at the coffee shop will remain the same as it was in Puck Food Hall. Pour overs, espresso drinks, a selection of teas as well as cold brew, nitro brew and coffee sodas are all on the menu.
The coffee served at Dr. Bean’s is roasted locally in Dr. Bean’s roastery, which is in a separate facility from the coffee shop.
“We usually have about five to six different coffees at a time,” said Billings of the company’s award-wining coffee selection.
The new coffee shop is slightly bigger than the stall at Puck Food Hall. They have expanded from 130 square feet to 200 square feet. A spacious café seating area is available in the front corner of the shop.
In addition to coffees, Dr. Bean’s will serve baked goods from local food artisans such as Lulu’s Foods and Dave’s Bagels.
Billings said he hopes that one day Dr. Bean’s will team back up with its former Puck Hall neighbors Sweet Magno
lia Gelato Company and Lulu’s Foods, alluding to a future location that would house all three business under one roof again. “The one thing that COVID has taught us is that we are stronger together.”
