- Judith Drinkard Kern, 77, of Memphis, passed away on Sunday, December 6.

Judy was born in Kansas City, Missouri. She moved to Memphis, TN as a child and spent the majority of her adult life in Memphis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Drinkard and Helen Polson Drinkard and a daughter, Laura Christine Pearsall. Judy is survived by her other two children Jeff Pearsall of Fairview, North Carolina and Beth Pearsall Bates (Bubba) of Germantown, Tennessee, three grandchild­ren, Laura Laine Baker, Daniel Pearsall, and Caroline Pearsall, and her brother Dwight Drinkard of Memphis, TN.

After graduating from White Station High School in Memphis, Judy attended Duke University in North Carolina. She later earned a BS in Nursing from Union University fulfilling her lifelong dream of becoming a Registered Nurse. She retired from Baptist Memorial Hospital and Semmes Murphy Surgery Center and was respected and loved by her peers. Her nature was selfless and she cared for others in every aspect of her life. Judy treasured her friends, family and above all she cherished being “Gamma” to her three grandchild­ren. She will be deeply missed.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 12, at 10:00 am at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. The burial immediatel­y followed. The funeral service was webcasted and the link may be obtained from the family.
