Lucy Mae Anderson was born on April 17, 1938, in Memphis, TN to the late Willie Bee and Ludie Mae Williams. She was united in marriage to the late Maxie Anderson on March 25, 1958. She departed this life on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Baptist Desoto Hospital.

She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and was baptized at South Parkway Church of Christ. Lucy truly treasured her relationsh­ip with the Lord and enjoyed speaking to people about the Bible.

Lucy Mae was a faithful employee of J. B. Hunter for over 20 years.

She was preceded in death by one son, Larry Williams, who left her with four beautiful granddaugh­ters, Sharita Holliday (Wallace), Marcy Miles (Dewayne), Itamara Wright, and Kandace Pugh (Demontrion­d).

She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Rodger Williams, Edgar Lee Williams, Joe Williams, and Malvin Williams and two sisters, Geraldine Chapman and Helen Hutchinson.

She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Patrick Anderson of Memphis, TN; five daughters, Capricia Anderson of Germantown, TN, Jonise Anderson of Horn Lake, MS, Charmain Anderson, Teri Anderson, and Carnesia (Woopi) Anderson all of Memphis, TN; twelve grandchild­ren, seven great grandchild­ren, seven great great grandchild­ren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and neighbors. Lucy Mae was a mother to all and a very special person. She was an incredibly loving and attentive foster mom to many children.

While we mourn her physical absence, she left an indelible mark on many lives, most impacted those of her children.

Visitation is Saturday, Dec. 19, from 2-5pm at M. J. Edwards Funeral Chapel, Whitehaven, 5494 Elvis Presley Blvd. Graveside service is Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020 at 10 am at New Park Cemetery 3900 Sewanee, Rd., Memphis 38109.
