MEMPHIS - Re v. Bruce Vernon White Jr. of Memphis, TN passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday December 13, 2020 in Smyrna, GA at the age of 81. Rev. White is survived by his children Patrick (Petra) White of Smyrna, GA, Joan Bullock of Murfreesbo­ro, TN, and Stephen (Zuleka) White of Tampa, FL, his granddaugh­ters Patrice White, Persephone White, Samara White, Jessica Bullock, Jocelyn Bullock and his grandsons Stephen White II, and Nathan White. He is also survived by his brother Clark (Juanita) White Sr, his sister Rev. Agnes Henderson, his brother-inlaw Daniel Henry, and his sisters-in- law Dessie White and Joyce White. He was preceded in death by his first wife, and the mother of his children, Nettye Hays Graham White, his second wife, Rev. Mae Frances Jackson White, his brothers William White Sr., E. Bernard White, Rev. O. P. White Sr., and his sisters Evelyn Benita Henry and Rev. Janis White. Rev. White was born on October 15, 1939 in Potts Camp, Mississipp­i to Bruce and Earlease White. He graduated from Rust College in 1962. He was a dedicated teacher in the Shelby County School System for over 30 years. He was a member of St Paul CME church in Holly Springs, MS in his youth and an active member, steward, and trustee at Mt Pisgah CME Church in Memphis as an adult before he, himself answered the call to ministry. A funeral is scheduled for December 30, 2020 at Mt. Pisgah CME church. Only family will be allowed to attend due to covid19 restrictio­ns and masks and social distancing will be required. Arrangemen­ts are in the care of N. J. Ford and Sons funeral parlor.
