MEMPHIS - Janet Elizabeth Strebel Kelley, 74, of Memphis, Tennessee died Saturday, December 19, 2020 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Janet was born on June 2, 1946 in Appleton, Wisconsin. She attended Immaculate Conception Grammar School and graduated from Immaculate Conception High School for Girls, class of 1964. She was also a graduate of the University of Memphis where she was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. Janet was Principal of Immaculate Conception Cathedral Grade School. She also taught in the Memphis City School System for several years.

She is preceded in death by her parents Vera Marie Mielke Strebel and Joseph Theodore Strebel and brother-in-law Charles Gallina. She leaves five sisters: Barbara Gallina, Patty Singler (Bill), and Becky Baker of Memphis, Tennessee, Sukey Brooks (Phil) of Destin, Florida and Marilyn Kemp (Norman) of Dallas, Texas. Additional­ly, Janet leaves four nieces, eight nephews and twenty-one great nieces and nephews all of whom she adored.

The Family would like to thank Ave Maria and their staff and especially thanks to Shannon Brocato and Shally Pender (nieces) for taking such loving care of Janet.

Private family services will be held at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ave Maria Home, the Alzheimer’s Associatio­n, or Immaculate Conception Cathedral Grade School.
