Sue Hanner Dolan

MEMPHIS - Sue Hanner Dolan, 94, of Memphis, TN, died January 7, 2021. This strong, beautiful, sweet lady will be remembered as someone who was always willing to help others, who quickly became ever yone’s friend.

She had a sparkle in her eyes when she smiled that could brighten the darkest day. She was a fabulous cook, had the world’s quickest wit, and was the best dancer of her time, especially with her husband, Bud.

Born in Parkin, AR, November 14, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Zach and Hattie Mae Hanner. Mrs. Dolan was a 1944 graduate of Parkin High School in Parkin, AR.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John R. “Bud” Dolan, son, Robert Dolan, two brothers, Austin Hanner and Robert Hanner, and grandson, Kenny Dolan.

Mrs. Dolan is survived by her four children, John Ralph Dolan, Jr. (Lastarr), Michael Hanner Dolan (Dianne), Suzanne Canepari (Joe), and Rebecca Russell (Monty). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Cordova, TN.

A private funeral service will be held January, 12 at 10am. Interment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue. Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, is in charge of arrangements.
