Here are the top-10 Memphis-area high school girls basketball teams, as ranked by The Commercial Appeal.

1. Hutchison (9-1): Senior guard Maxine Engel averaged 17 points in wins over Covington and St. Benedict to extend the Sting's win streak to six games. Last week: No. 1

2. Olive Branch (12-1): Olive Branch picked up wins against Lafayette, Lewisburg, and Desoto Central. All 3 wins were by 25 or more. Last week: No. 2

3. Arlington (9-2): The Taylor twins, Carmen and Charmen, combined for 39 points in Friday's win over rival Bartlett. Last week: No. 3

4. Tipton-rosemark (6-0): The Rebels pushed their win streak to six with a 51-23 win over Sacred Heart. Last week: No. 4

5. Colliervil­le (10-2): Colliervil­le was idle again last week, but is set for a matchup with rival Houston this week. Last week: No. 5

6.Briarcest (9-2): Sophomore forward Kayli Clarkson averaged 19 points per game in the Saints' wins over Bartlett and St. Agnes. Last week: No. 7

7. Covington (13-5): Kaylynn Howard and Felia Fayne combined for 24 points in a win over Fayette-ware. But the Chargers fell to Hutchison on Saturday. Last week: No. 8

8. Fayette-ware (9-4): Freshman standout Rachel Griffin, who recently picked up an offer from Ole Miss, had a doubledoub­le in the Wildcats' win over Millington with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Last week: No. 6

9. Hernando (14-4): The Tigers had three scorers, Abbey Harrison, Victoria Walton and Damyia Cummings, in double-figures during their win over Center Hill. Last week: Unranked

10. Fayette Academy (8-4): The Vikings fell to Trinity Christian and USJ but have wins over St. Agnes and Sacred Heart. Last week: Unranked
