Norma Jean Anderson Long went to be with The Lord and her husband Charlie Long on February 14, 2021. Norma Jean was born at her home on Madison Avenue on November 7, 1926 to Ruby and Henry Anderson. She graduated from Central High School at the age of 16. Norma Jean was profession­ally trained as a child in all discipline­s of dance. She became City of Memphis Jitterbug Champion and was even offered a contract in New York with The Rockettes. A career ensued after high school as a secretary with unbelievab­le typing and short hand skills at the Memphis Air Traffic Control Center. It was at the MATCC that she met a Radio Communicat­ions Specialist from Texas named Charlie. They married in 1946 and were “Soul Mates” for 67 years and had a love like no other. They had three sons after building their home in High Point Terrace in 1952. The couple lived in that home for the rest of their lives. Norma Jean always put family first. Her favorite hobby and passion was taking care of Charlie and the boys. She was predecease­d by her husband (Charles Allan Long), her parents (Ruby & Henry Anderson) and sister (Melba Gregory). Norma Jean is survived by her 3 sons Allan (Connie), Charles (Leann) and Kerry (Amy) as well as her loving grandchild­ren (Charlie, Kristin, Kelly, Tyler, Carter and Samantha). Norma Jean was also blessed with 6 great grandsons (Asher, Stephen, Paxton, Hudson, Brooks and Roman).

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, February 26 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue in Memphis.
