- Max Garland

Autozone employees who complete their COVID-19 vaccinations will receive $100 from the company, the Memphisbased auto parts retailer announced Wednesday.

“Autozoners’ response to COVID-19, throughout the entire organization, has been tremendous,” said Chairman and CEO Bill Rhodes in a statement. “As a company, we are removing any potential work-related barriers, strongly encouraging, and incentivizing Autozoners to get a COVID-19 vaccine when they are eligible.”

Autozone had about 100,000 employees as of August, 10,000 of which are employed by its Mexico and Brazil operations. The company had 5,924 stores in the U.S. as of November.

Autozone said in a news release it has invested more than $125 million to help employees “deal with the challenges caused by COVID-19.” In a December regulatory filing, the company said it continues to invest in protective supplies, clean and disinfect its stores frequently and require masks in its facilities.

The company has reported continued growth during the pandemic. In its most recently reported quarter, revenue was up nearly 13% from the yearbefore quarter.
