Byhalia Connection Team is important community partner
The House of Grace is fortunate to have many community partners, and we are grateful to the Byhalia Connection team for their support of our mission to provide resources and assistance to victims of domestic violence in North Mississippi.
Supporters like the Byhalia Connection team help us take our work helping domestic abuse victims overcome trauma even further. Independent donations allow us to provide shelter and free confidential support services to Mississippians in need across 7 local counties.
Our mission is especially timely given the COVID-19 pandemic, and we are proud to offer 24/7 emergency shelter, counseling, case management, and resources/referrals to our neighbors in crisis.
Though domestic violence rates have improved in our state over the years, it is still a persistent problem that affects our families, friends, and neighbors. Almost 800,000 Mississippians experience domestic or dating violence in their lifetimes.
However, few realize that victims of relationship violence lose 8 million paid workdays total each year across the country – the equivalent of 32,000 full-time jobs.
Furthermore, just 34% of victims in the U.S. receive the medical care they need for the injuries inflicted by domestic partners.
On behalf of the House of Grace, I want to express deep gratitude to the Byhalia Connection team for their donations that will help women and their children take back control of their lives, paving the way for a brighter, safer future.
Supporters like the Byhalia Connection team offer those we serve something that often seems too far out of reach: hope.
