Jackson, Barnes to coach in Iverson Classic

The Iverson Classic, an all-star high school basketball game, will take place at Bartlett High School, Iverson Classic co-founder Bobby Bates confirmed to The Commercial Appeal on Tuesday.

Former NBA stars Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson announced the roster on Showtime Basketball's Instagram page.

Barnes said the game will be played May 8.

Barnes and Jackson will team up to coach one team against a team coached by two other former NBA stars Rasheed Wallace and Bonzi Wells.

Team Honor, coached by Wallace and Wells, features Chet Holmgren, the No. 1 player in the country for the Class of 2021 according to the 247Sports Composite,

five-star Tennessee signee Kennedy Chandler, and Memphis commitment Josh Minott, among others.

Team Loyalty, coached by Jackson and Barnes, will have a pair of Duke signees in Paulo Banchero and AJ Griffin, along with Oregon signee Johnathan Lawson, five-star Alabama signee JD Davison, and Raven Johnson, the No. 2 women's basketball prospect in the country who is committed to South Carolina, among others.

The Iverson Classic also partnered with Showtime on a showcase at Bartlett last December.

Bartlett's Amarr Knox scored 37 points in one of the games and Memphis coach Penny Hardaway offered him a scholarship the next day.
