Johnny Wofford
Johnny Wofford of Olive Branch, MS, was born 3/9/1938 in Rich, AR and went to meet his Savior on 3/11/2021 from complications of Parkinson’s Disease. He graduated from Brinkley, AR high school in 1956 and moved to Memphis that same year. He worked most of his life as a purchasing agent for manufacturing companies in the Memphis area. In 2000, he formed his own company, Johnny Wofford Sales. For many years he was an active amateur radio operator (WA4ETE). He was a member of Central Church, Collierville, TN where he served as an usher until his decline in health. Johnny had a great passion for photography and was photographer for University of Arkansas for 15 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lois Wofford and his wife, Betty Jean Wofford. He is survived by his spouse, Nita B Wofford whom he married in 1988. He and Nita enjoyed traveling and in later years worked together in their business. Also surviving Johnny is his son, John E (Suzanne) Wofford of Olive Branch, MS, his stepdaughter, Tiffany (Rob) Chandler of Columbus, OH, sister, Alva (Phil) Steele of Cordova, TN, 2 granddaughters, Emma and Olivia Wofford of Olive Branch, MS, a niece, Lauren (Will) Ivy of College Grove, TN and his Schnauzer, Spanky. He is also survived by his caregiver, Tricia Macdonald, Memphis, TN. The family requests no flowers. Donations may be made in his memory to ASPCA, St Jude or Shriner’s Hospital. A Celebration of The Life and Times of Johnny Wofford will be held at 11AM on April 6, 2021 at Central Church in Collierville, TN. A time of visitation will follow the service.
