Braves 7, NATIONALS 6 (G1): With Ronald Acuña Jr. leading the way with a double and a pair of singles, Atlanta snapped a season-starting four-game losing streak by edging the Nationals in a doublehead­er opener.

Twins 3, TIGERS 2: Jorge Polanco hit a two-run double in the sixth inning and Minnesota held off Akil Baddoo and Detroit. Baddoo hit an RBI triple and threw a runner out from left field. Wilson Ramos homered for Detroit.

RED SOX 9, Rays 2: Christian Vázquez homered, Xander Bogaerts had three hits and J.D. Martinez went for extra bases for the seventh game in a row to help Boston complete a three-game sweep.

CLEVELAND 4, Royals 2: José Ramírez’s second two-run homer of the game snapped a tie in the eighth inning and Cy Young Award winner Shane Bieber struck out 12. Salvador Pérez homered for the Royals.

RANGERS 2, Blue Jays 1: Kyle Gibson rebounded from a horrendous opening day start for Texas by striking out eight over six scoreless innings, and the Rangers beat the Blue Jays in the rubber game of their three-game series.

Brewers at CUBS, late: Freddy Peralta pitched five sharp innings, Travis Shaw hit a three-run homer and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Chicago Cubs 4-0 on Tuesday night.

Braves at NATIONALS (G2), late: Juan Soto drove in the winning run with a single on a 3-0 pitch in the bottom of the ninth inning Tuesday, lifting the Washington Nationals to a 6-5 comeback victory over the Atlanta Braves.

Dodgers at ATHLETICS, late: Clayton Kershaw struck out eight in seven smooth innings to send the Athletics to their worst start in more than a century, and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat winless Oakland 5-1 on Tuesday.

Mets at PHILLIES, late: Marcus Stroman tossed six sharp innings in his first start since 2019, Dominic Smith and Pete Alonso each hit a two-run homer and the New York Mets beat the Philadelph­ia Phillies 8-4 Tuesday night.

Giants at PADRES, late: Victor Caratini hit a tiebreakin­g, two-run homer and Yu Darvish pitched six strong innings for the San Diego Padres, who beat the San Francisco Giants 3-1 on Tuesday night.

White Sox at MARINERS, late: Jose Abreu hit a grand slam for his 200th career home run, Luis Robert and Zack Collins both went deep for the first time this season and the White Sox beat the Mariners 10-4 on Tuesday.

Cardinals at MARLINS, late: Yadier Molina hit a tiebreakin­g sacrifice fly off former batterymat­e Sandy Alcantara to cap a three-run rally in the sixth inning that sent the St. Louis Cardinals over Miami Marlins 4-2 on Tuesday night.

Orioles at YANKEES, late: The Yankees’ Gerrit Cole struck out 13 and walked none over seven scoreless innings, overwhelmi­ng the Orioles 7-2 Tuesday for his first win this season.

D-backs at ROCKIES, late: Stephen Vogt homered and hit a go-ahead single in the 13th inning as Arizona overcame Ryan Mcmahon’s three home runs, beating the Colorado Rockies 10-8 on Tuesday night.
