Cleveland 6, REDS 3: Shane Bieber kept up his record strikeout run, fanning 13 and pitching Cleveland past Cincinnati 6-3 on Sunday. Bieber (2-1) become the first pitcher in big league history to begin the season with four straight starts with at least 10 strikeouts.

Giants 1, MARLINS 0: Alex Wood pitched five innings in his season debut and four relievers completed a three-hitter as the Giants scored an unearned run Sunday to beat the Marlins 1-0 and avert a series sweep.

Pirates at BREWERS, late: Brett Anderson pitched seven effective innings and the Milwaukee Brewers built a big lead early and breezed past the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-1 on Saturday night.

ROYALS 2, Blue Jays 0: Salvador Perez tapped his bat twice on the plate to make sure it wasn’t cracked, then sent the next pitch he saw from Toronto reliever T.J. Zeuch into the left-field fountains, breaking open a scoreless game and sending the Kansas City Royals to a 2-0 victory over the Blue Jays on Sunday.

Orioles at RANGERS, late: Trey Mancini had a tiebreakin­g RBI double in the eighth inning and the Baltimore Orioles won 6-1 at Texas on Saturday night, getting their runs against three relievers after Rangers rookie starter Dane Dunning threw six scoreless innings.

Mets at ROCKIES, late: Colorado batted .257 as a team last season and hit 63 total home runs. New York pitchers had an ERA of 4.98 last season while striking out 9.6 hitters per game.

Tigers at ATHLETICS, late: Matt Olson, Aramís García and Mark Canha each homered and the Oakland Athletics shut out the Detroit Tigers for a second straight game, 7-0 on Saturday for their seventh win in a row.

Astros at MARINERS, late: Zack Greinke pitched eight sharp innings, rookie Taylor Jones drove in the only run and the depleted Houston Astros ended a six-game losing streak, edging the Seattle Mariners 1-0 Saturday night.

Dodgers at PADRES, late: Mookie Betts made an outstandin­g diving catch and Clayton Kershaw starred on the mound and at the plate, helping the Los Angeles Dodgers top the San Diego Padres 2-0 on Saturday night.

Braves at CUBS, late: Kris Bryant and Willson Contreras each homered twice, and the Chicago Cubs beat the Braves 13-4 Saturday on an afternoon when Atlanta returned Sean Kazmar Jr. to the major leagues for the first time in 13 years.
