Nationals 6, PIRATES 2: Patrick Corbin gave Washington’s overworked bullpen a bit of a break, working seven strong innings as the Nationals beat Pittsburgh to avoid a three-game sweep.

Blue Jays 22, ORIOLES 7: Lourdes Gurriel Jr. and Teoscar Hernández each hit a grand slam, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. slugged his 44th homer, and Toronto overpowere­d Baltimore, finishing two runs shy of the franchise record. The Blue Jays had 19 hits.

Rockies at PHILLIES, late: Zack Wheeler steadied the slumping Phillies with eight strikeouts and Bryce Harper homered to lead Philadelph­ia to a 6-1 win over Colorado on Saturday night.

Marlins at BRAVES, late: Bryan De La Cruz and Jesús Sánchez hit back-toback home runs in the eighth inning against Richard Rodríguez, lifting Miami over Atlanta 6-4 on Saturday night.

Angels at ASTROS, late: Luis Rengifo homered with three RBIS to lead Los Angeles to a 4-2 win over Houston on Saturday night. David Fletcher and Shohei Ohtani hit consecutiv­e singles to start the game.

Royals at TWINS, late: Jorge Polanco hit two of Minnesota’s five home runs, Michael Pineda pitched five strong innings in his return to the rotation and the Twins beat Kansas City 9-2 on Saturday night.

Red Sox at WHITE SOX, late: Travis Shaw hit a tiebreakin­g single in the 10th inning after belting a three-run homer in the third and Boston beat Chicago 9-8 on Saturday night.

Reds at CARDINALS, late: Nolan Arenado hit a two-run homer in the eighth and had three RBIS and Paul Dejong had a solo shot to help St. Louis beat Cincinnati 6-4 on Saturday night. St. Louis has won three of four and gained a game on Cincinnati in the NL wildcard race.

Giants at CUBS, late: Tommy La Stella and Brandon Belt each hit three-run homers, and San Francisco pounded Chicago 15-4 on Saturday for its sixth straight win. La Stella finished with three hits, including a double, five RBIS and scored three runs.

Rangers at ATHLETICS, late: Jonah Heim hit a two-run home run with two outs in the eighth to cap a five-run rally, lifting Texas past Oakland, 8-6, on Saturday. Matt Olson, Starling Marte and Mark Canha homered for the A’s.

Padres at DODGERS, late: Mookie Betts hit a tiebreakin­g, three-run homer with two outs in the fifth inning and Los Angeles held off San Diego 5-4 on Saturday. The Dodgers remained 21⁄2 games behind San Francisco.

D-backs at MARINERS, late: Daulton Varsho homered and drove in four runs and Arizona beat Seattle 7-3 on Saturday night snap a six-game losing streak and deal a blow to the Mariners’ wild-card hopes.

Yankees at METS, late: Aaron Judge tied it with his second homer of the game in the eighth inning, Mets infielder Javier Báez gave away the lead with an error a few at-bats later and the Yankees beat the Mets 8-7 on Saturday night.
