Britain’s Princess Diana has fallen in love with a 36-year-old Muslim heart surgeon and wants him to become her second husband after heir to the throne Prince Charles, a British newspaper claimed Sunday. In a story splashed over most of its first five pages, the Sunday Mirror linked the divorced Princess’s name to Hasnat Khan, an unmarried British-based cardiac specialist whose family lives in Pakistan.
And it quoted a “friend” of the 36year-old Princess saying she hoped he would father a half-sister to her two sons, Princes William and Harry. “The Princess is desperately in love,” the tabloid said in quoting the unnamed “friend” of Diana. “On the one hand, she wants the world to know. But on the other hand, she is understandably concerned that her enthusiasm may send him running.”

Late payment restrictions on utility bills, including the 10 percent penalty, may be relaxed by the end of the year, a Memphis Light, Gas and Water Division said yesterday. However, Carl Crawford, LG&W public relations director, refused to confirm a report by City Councilman James L. Netters that the late charge definitely will be reduced.

Raymond Skinner, president of the Community Chest, yesterday expressed the hope that the $836,703 goal in the current drive would be exceeded by “$45,000 to $50,000 to help take care of the increased cost of food and fuel for the institutional agencies.” Smaller divisions, such as city and county employees, the Shelby County educational division and the office division have been “contributing above the average,” he said.
