Here’s the top 10 Memphis area high school football games for the second week of the TSSAA state playoffs.

Game of the week CBHS (7-4) at Briarcrest (9-1)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Nearly two months ago – and on a different field – Briarcrest watched as the Purple Wave rallied from a 14-point, fourthquar­ter deficit, before needing double overtime to earn a 43-42 victory. The usual stars were on display, as Saints quarterbac­k JD Sherrod and CBHS tailback Dallan Hayden each accounted for four touchdowns. Max Carroll had three TD receptions and the decisive two-point conversion. The winner advances to play Baylor or MBA in the Division II-AAA semifinals.

Prediction: Briarcrest 35-31

Ravenwood (9-2) at Colliervil­le (11-0)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Colliervil­le avoided a Week 6 rematch with Whitehaven following Ravenwood’s 21-14 Class 6A first-round victory over the Tigers. The Raptors’ two losses this season have come to second-round playoff teams MBA and Summit. The Dragons blanked Independen­ce in the second half of last week’s 44-13 win. Linebacker Gyasi Wallace had a team-high five solo tackles, including two for loss. Colliervil­le’s key to victory is containing quarterbac­k Chris Parson, a Florida State commitment. Ravenwood cornerback Myles Pollard is committed to Michigan.

Prediction: Colliervil­le 34-28

BGA (6-5) at Lausanne (8-1)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

The only thing separating Lausanne from a perfect season was a 17-14 loss in Week 10 to Class 4A playoff participan­t South

Gibson. It was the only game Lynx star tailback Craig Cunningham (1,230 rushing yards) has been held out of the end zone. Quarterbac­k Brock Glenn has accounted for 19 touchdowns, including 17 through the air. BGA is led by quarterbac­k Brett Brown and Sean Williams, who helped the Wildcats edge Chattanoog­a Christian, 28-27. Lausanne had a Division II-AA opening-round bye.

Prediction: Lausanne 35-21

Central (9-2) at Springfiel­d (9-2)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Central has proven all season that it can score in bunches with a heavy dose of tailback Jamarious Brooks, who accounted for four touchdowns in last week’s 35-29 Class 5A victory against Kenwood. Springfiel­d, meanwhile, used a team approach in its 56-6 win over a high-powered Brighton squad. Eight different players scored for the Yellow Jackets (six rushing, one receiving and one intercepti­on return). The Warriors average 42 points a contest. Prediction: Central 49-45

Henry Co. (6-5) at Munford (9-2)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Munford captured its seventh straight win by edging Portland in Class 5A, 28-27. Tailback Auvic White and quarterbac­k Jordan Bell contribute­d two touchdowns apiece. Henry County has scored 56 points in each of the last two weeks, including a 56-21 victory over Dyer County. The Cougars are 6-2 at home this season. Prediction: Munford 28-24

Ripley (5-6) at Covington (8-2)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Thanks to Covington beating Raleighegy­pt, 54-6, and Ripley defeating East, 58-38, in Class 3A, the Chargers and Tigers are due for a rematch. In Week 6, Covington outgained Ripley, 407-268, in a 30-20 home win. Tailback Jamarion Dowell spearheade­d the victory with 24 carries for 195 yards and two touchdowns. Dowell and Jalen Fayne have 18 and 11 rushing touchdowns, respective­ly.

Prediction: Covington 35-21

Millington (6-4) at Dyersburg (10-0)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Millington got past Trezevant, 34-16, to stay alive in Class 3A. The victory, which featured two touchdowns from Mccoy Pugh and additional scores by Courtlyn Barnes, Brandon Warner and J’vion Todd, sets up an all-trojan rematch. In Week 9, Dyersburg cruised to a 51-0 win. Dyersburg has surrendere­d just 59 points this season.

Prediction: Dyersburg 42-14

Huntingdon (9-2) at MAHS (10-1)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Offensive fireworks will be on display in the Class 2A showdown. MAHS defeated Camden last week, 50-6. Tennessee commitment Cameron Miller scored four times. Huntingdon eliminated Mitchell, 56-24. The Mustangs possess a pair of senior tailbacks, Aden Hutcherson and Cade Wood, who have rushed for 1,556 and 1,398 yards, respective­ly. They’ve combined to score 43 touchdowns. Prediction: Huntingdon 49-47

Melrose (6-5) at Haywood (11-0)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Outlasting Milan, 32-28, has afforded Melrose the opportunit­y to test its skills against Haywood, a 49-7 winner over Wooddale in first round of Class 5A, 49-7. It will be a Week 6 rematch in which the Tomcats prevailed at home, 43-20. Since that meeting, Haywood has yielded just 37 points in its last six contests. Prediction: Haywood 45-24

Fairley (9-2) at Westview (10-1)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Fairley is riding high following its 48-35 Class 2A victory against Union City. Westview gets the chance to play another home game after ousting Freedom Prep, 42-6. The Chargers are fueled by quarterbac­k and Alabama commitment Ty Simpson. The Westview defense has given up seven points or less in six games this season, including three shutouts. Prediction: Westview 49-28
