Hugh Keith Null

-

- Hugh Keith Null, longtime resident of Memphis, Tennessee, died Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Burnt Hickory Residences in Cartersville, Georgia, with his loving family by his side. He was 79 years old.

Born in 1942 at his aunt’s house in Selmer, Tennessee, Keith was the son of Hazel and Bob Null.

Graduating from Messick High School in Memphis, Keith enjoyed acting in plays and travelling with the debate team.

As a member of the body of Christ, Keith exhibited his faith by actively participating in Civil Rights in his younger years.

His college years saw him in retail sales at Katz Drug Store and later at Woolco. And his military years in the Army took Keith to Wurzburg, Germany.

Baptist Memorial Hospital became an important part of his life, working there full time for many years.

He lived a valiant and determined life after an auto accident 35 years ago left Keith with many physical disabilities and some paralysis. After months of rehab, Keith returned to work part time at BMH until his retirement in 2011.

It was common to spot Keith in Midtown Memphis as he continued his good works by helping the homeless and advocating for the disabled. A favorite saying was that he was like a Timex - he took a licking and kept on ticking.

Keith is survived by his brother, Robert Harold Null, Jr. (Jackie) of White, Georgia and his sisters, Wanda Null Wilkinson of Cartersville, Georgia and Beth Null Stevens (Ed) of Bradford, Pennsylvania along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Interment in Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia is planned for a later date.
