Dorris J. Doyle

COLLIERVILLE - Dorris J. Doyle, 87, of Collierville, Tennessee, passed away December 1, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. He was born October 24, 1934, in Bolivar, Tennessee. He and his wife, Ruth were married in 1953 and enjoyed sixty-eight wonderful years together.

Dorris was a member and former deacon of Ridgeway Baptist Church in Memphis, and prior to that, he served as a deacon at Beverly Hills Baptist Church. During his early career, he was a meat cutter at Memphis area Big Star grocery stores. He finished his career as a realtor and eventually, a real estate broker.

Dorris enjoyed fishing, bowling, and spending time with family. Dorris and Ruth loved to travel and visited all fifty states during their retirement.

Dorris was preceded in death by his parents, Wood T. Doyle and Martha Elizabeth Doyle; son, Alan Doyle; brother, Forrest Doyle; and sister, Mary Elizabeth Howell.

He is survived by his wife, Annie Ruth Doyle; son, Keith Doyle; daughter-in-law, Katherine Doyle; grandchildren, Kirby Doyle (Becky), Katie Clark (David) and Kelsey Doyle; great-grandchildren, Allie, Julian, Jocelynn, Elijah, and Presley Kate; sisters, Linda Taylor (David) and Sadie Downen.

Funeral services will be Monday, December 6, at Collierville Funeral Home beginning at 2:00pm with visitation prior starting at 12:30. Dr. Ashley Ray will lead the services.
