Louis J. Annaratone, III, age 65, passed away January 21, 2022, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. Originally from Memphis, he was preceded in death by parents, Louis J Annaratone, Jr, and Rita Sauer Waddell Annaratone; uncles and aunts, Edward Annaratone, Helen Annaratone, Rose Ann Annaratone, Neal Woodard, and Richard Waddell. Louis is survived by uncle, Thomas Annaratone; aunts, Marie Annaratone, Clemensia Waddell; and cousins, David Woodard, wife, Elizabeth, and Karl Mark Waddell, wife, Katherine. He is also survived by his fiancé’, Rise Kaye Acuff. He was the love and light of her life.

He leaves behind dear friends, Wanda Vest, Jenny Nunn, and Thomas Buckner, Esq. He will be sadly missed by all his good friends and colleagues at Talbots, where he was employed for 24 years, earning many customer service awards and honors. Louis wanted to express his sincere love and gratitude to the entire management and staff at Country Inn and Suites on Campbell Station Road in Farragut for their genuine hospitalit­y, invaluable help and enduring friendship which became like family. He also enjoyed the great friendship­s he had over the year with Christian Brothers Automotive Service, being that he had a love of cars.

Louis was born August 24, 1956, in Memphis, TN He was an alter server at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was active in the Scouts and was an Eagle Scout and loved the outdoors. He graduated from Bishop Byrne High School in 1974, as well as earning his bachelors and master’s degree in microbiolo­gy from Memphis State University. Upon graduation he worked as a research assistant at St Jude Children’s hospital for several years. After relocating to Knoxville, Louis taught at the University of Tennessee and was a research assistant at the UT College of Veterinary Medicine.

Louis shared his father’s enthusiasm for flying model airplanes, control line and U-controlled flying. He also loved gourmet cuisine often developing his own recipes. He loved all animals, gardening, and cultivatin­g flowers and vegetables. Louis also enjoyed board games, learning history, opera, and the fine arts. He was a true renaissanc­e man with an unshakeabl­e code of courage, honor, and fortitude. He was devoted to serving the Lord, helping neighbors and strangers alike in any way he could. Louis left this world too soon, and he left this world a better place because of his exemplary life. He always believed that a Christian should never be afraid to die. May all of us deserve to have heavenly peace in our eyes, as Louis did. “Well done, thy good and faithful servant”.

A memorial mass is being planned for June 28, 2022, at St John Neumann Catholic Church in Knoxville. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to Parkwest Medical Center for their unmatched excellence in care, or to the Humane Society.
