Dr. R.C. Mcewan (Chris) was born in September of 1939 and died on March 20, 2022. He was a faithful husband and father and a beloved friend and physician. Chris was born in Pittsburgh, PA and grew up on Signal Mountain in Tennessee. He attended the Baylor School, Vanderbilt University (where he was a swimmer and President of the Sigma Chi fraternity), and UT Medical School in Memphis. He served his country in the Vietnam War as a physician in the Army. Later, he establishe­d his medical practice in Memphis and endeared himself to many patients with his care and unpredicta­ble humor. He served as a Deacon and Elder at Independen­t Presbyteri­an Church and often volunteere­d at the Church Health Center. His humility, faith in Jesus, calm demeanor and funny one-liners added much to the lives of his family and friends. He leaves this world and his family and friends with a profound legacy.

Chris is pre-deceased by his loving wife, Freddie S. Mcewan and is survived by two sons: Robert C. Mcewan III and his wife Emily, Daniel H. Mcewan and his wife Liz; and six grandchild­ren: Morgan, Molly, Hastings, Bo, Will & Luke Mcewan.

Visitation will be held at Independen­t Presbyteri­an Church, 4738 Walnut Grove Road Rd., Memphis 38117 on Tuesday, March 29th at 4:00 pm. until 5:00 pm with a Memorial Service to follow at 5:00 pm.
