Inspired by a true story and based on the Esquire article of the same name by Jesse Barron, The Girl From Plainville looks at teen Michelle Carter’s (Elle Fanning) “texting-suicide” case. The eight-episode limited series explores her relationship with her boyfriend, Conrad Roy III (Colton Ryan), and the events that led to his suicide and Carter’s eventual conviction for involuntary manslaughter.
